A Philipsburg area business sustained heavy damage in a fire on Tuesday morning.

The Philipsburg Fire Department dispatched at about 8:50 a.m. to Bombshell Salon at 999 Tyrone Pike in Rush Township after multiple calls reported smoke coming from the building, according to Hope Fire Company.

Crews arrived on scene to find a working fire in the single story salon and called for a second alarm to dispatch assistance from Mountain Top Fire Company. Morris Township , Columbia, Moshannon Valley and Houtzdale Ramey fire companies of Clearfield County also assisted with what Hope Fire Company described as “extensive” overhaul.

The scene was cleared within about 90 minutes. Route 350 was closed during firefighting operations with assistance from Port Matilda, Morris Township, Osceola Mills and BJW fire companies and PennDOT.

Bombshell Salon wrote in a Facebook post that no one was injured.

“Bombshell is closed for now,” the post stated. “We ask everyone to keep us in your prayers as we navigate this and try to move forward. Thank you for your love and kindness and patience during this difficult time.”
